tapas yoga shala is Indian, and roughly translates as “intense yoga school.”
tapas (rhymes with “papas”) describes the physical heat of yoga practice as well as a sort of internal heat that arises in the effort to overcome bad habits and limitations in the body and mind. shala (rhymes with “la la” as in “la la land”) is used in India to describe a yoga school.
tapas yoga shala is located at 100 19th Street, Suite 104 in the McKesson Lofts building in the District of Rock Island. Our high ceilings, natural light, and elegant design offer one of the most beautiful and inspiring yoga practice spaces in the Quad Cities. (Click here for directions with Google Maps)
